Bactericides are designed to prevent the growth of sulfate-reducing bacteria and are also applicable in cases of local infection, both in the bottom-hole zone, and in oil and water storage systems and systems for maintaining pressure in the formation.
They are also used to prevent contamination of drilling fluids. Bactericides developed by STC TOC LLP are tertiary amines, thioazo-heterocycles.
