A traditional echo sounder emits one single frequency pulse per cycle. A CHIRP (High Intensity Compressed Radar Pulse) sonar emits multiple pulses in succession at different frequencies. Compared to traditional echo sounders, it delivers the clearest images at maximum resolution.
The presence of 3 rays helps to study the reservoir in as much detail as possible:
- a wide beam is used to search for promising points (dumps, holes, driftwood);
- the middle beam is needed to find fish and create depth maps;
- a narrow beam allows you to view in more detail exactly the area that interests you.
